The 6th Biennial Meeting of the APSN was successfully taken place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on 4th-~7th February 2004.
Around 300 people from 25 countries, mostly from the Asian-Pacific region, attended. The program included three plenary lectures, ten symposia, eight young investigator colloquia and two technical forums. The young investigator colloquia were set to let young scientists from the Asian-Pacific region to talk about their work and were very successful with high quality of presentations.

It is with great sadness that ISN was forced to cancel its 19th biennial meeting in August 2003 due to the surprise global attack of SARS earlier this year. We are indeed indebted to many healthcare professionals and researchers for their tireless efforts in combating SARS during those momentous months and that we are now able to remain safe.
Despite this historic cancellation of the ISN/APSN meeting, ISN continues to show its commitment and incessant support to the development of neurochemistry in the Asia-Pacific region, culminating in ISN’s financial support for APSN to continue to hold its 6th biennial meeting in Hong Kong in February 2004. APSN owe its deepest gratitude to ISN and indeed the phoenix is able to rise from the ashes.
On behalf of the local organizing committee, I therefore wish you all a very warm welcome to Hong Kong on 4-7 February 2004.
